About Solarmask
Why we started SolarMask
During our studies, one of us wrote a thesis on LED light therapy . The results of LED light therapy were surprisingly good, so we decided to explore the possibilities of bringing this technology to market together.
When we then looked at the existing market, something struck us:
- many devices used dim or weak LEDs
- specifications were barely explained
- the prices were often illogically high
- and transparency was hard to find
That made us curious.
Why was the gap between science and practice so large?
That question became the start of SolarMask.
We combined the insights from the thesis with additional dermatological studies, spoke with specialized suppliers, and tested various configurations. Gradually, the first concept of what is now SolarMask emerged:
A light therapy mask that works the way science says it should — honest, clear, and effective.
What makes solar mask special?
Research-based technology
Light therapy is all about one thing: the right wavelengths .
That is why our programs are not chosen at random, but based on literature research into what really works.
We focused on the wavelengths most frequently cited in research for skin improvement and repair. Based on this, we developed our various light programs. No unnecessary additives, but precisely what's needed for effective treatment.
Our 5 treatment modes
- Red light — Collagen & skin firming
- Blue light — blemishes & acne
- Yellow/Amber light — Equalizing & glow
- Near Infrared — Deeper Skin Layers & Restoration
- Purple Light — Combination Treatment of Red and Blue
We consciously use near-infrared (NIR) technology . Research shows that NIR penetrates deeply enough to be effective, while infrared offers little in the way of additional benefits. Therefore, we prioritize effectiveness over marketing claims .
Slim and comfortable design
During the design process, we encountered two major frustrations with existing masks. We addressed these in our design.
Remote control on the mask
Many masks have a control panel attached to the mask by a wire. This is inconvenient, fragile, and disruptive during use.
That's why we opted for a control panel integrated into the mask itself . Wireless, clear, and easy to use.
Extra strap over the head
Many masks are secured only with a strap at the back of the head. This puts unnecessary pressure on the nostrils.
Our solution: an extra strap over the head , which distributes the weight better and relieves pressure on the nose. This makes the mask much more comfortable.
Our Mission
We want to make professional skin technology accessible to everyone.
- Not by skimping on quality.
- Not by making unrealistic promises.
But by:
- Scientifically proven LED technology
- Fairly priced quality
- Comfortable design
- Clear explanation and transparency
Why the name: SolarMask?
Despite the name SolarMask, our masks do not use UV light.
UV can damage the skin and belongs in the sun or tanning beds – not in skin improvement.
Instead, SolarMask uses safe LED light waves (such as red, blue, yellow, and infrared) that have been proven in dermatological studies to improve skin. So you get all the benefits of light therapy without the risks of UV.
Why then the name SolarMask ?
Because we believe that light has the power to make your skin glow – just like the sun does, but safe, controlled and skin-friendly.
